There's no escaping the ups and downs

In creation and in business at the same time: The ups and downs are our daily lives… sometimes, often!

We work really hard for something and POOF: It works! You're so proud, you tell your boyfriend who also has a business and you congratulate yourself on the great news or the great accomplishments. Like the time we worked so hard to optimize our online store and saw our sales statistics skyrocket the following month and the other months too. A real pat on the back that boosts your morale and also helps your company's bank account, while making people happy. Wow. A moment to be savored.

But there are also days when your feeling tells you that it's going to be a funny day. However, against all expectations, you receive a call from someone interested in doing business with you, for a large amount. You're super happy. She seems excited on the line and seems really serious. You're surprised by such news. You didn't even have to do much work, just a FB post and that's it. You talk about it to your job partner who also can't believe it. And BOOM! Not long later you receive a 2-line email from this same person supposedly interested in doing business with you, who just says “Finally I’ll pass”. No details, no explanations. Nothing. You understand that she scared herself and curled up in an oyster shell. That will never do a good job.

You're disappointed, but when you think about it, you know deep down that you don't want to deal with people like that and that ultimately it would probably have gone wrong elsewhere in the process if it had gone ahead.

So you roll up your sleeves. You start working hard on something else again. You take a long walk outside to oxygenate your brain and make room for beauty and nature. And while you're walking, an idea for a new exhibition comes to you. Life is beautiful!

It must be said: creation is not a linear journey and the life of an entrepreneur is a tangle of ups and downs. But we learn every day and we find solutions to be better at what we do each time. In the end, it's a lot more sun than clouds!
